A good deck layout is simple yet functional, secure in a way to provide good and abundant hand holds with sure footing and ease of passage fore and aft. The 3500 Sovran hits that mark. From stem to stern simple and functional translates to an easily managed deck and cockpit from Captain to crew. Foredeck work setting the anchor or tending bow lines is aided with the security of the 1" stainless bow rail. Operating the Maxwell windlass from the foredeck solely from the bow is possible with the covered and separate foot operated switches. Transitioning aft from the bow is aided by the bow rail that runs aft amidship. Excellent grab rails wrap around both sides and aft of the hardtop. Stepping into the cockpit is aided with molded steps from the side decks. The starboard stern boarding gate hinges closed to contain kids or pets in the cockpit. A step down onto the large swim platform makes dinghy boarding and steps to a finger pier uneventful.
